We nerds can sometimes have a tendency to have tunnel vision when it comes to the things we love and experience.
The More You Nerd is a Podcast is going to change that!
We’re about finding new geeky things to love and expanding our nerd horizons based on weekly challenges. There are a few rules though:
1. The challenge can be accomplished in a week.
2. It doesn’t break the bank.
3. It is something you’ve watched/done/read/played/etc.
4. Tell us why you love it and why you think we’ll love it, too.
Email your challenges, questions, and comments to TheMoreYouNerd@gmail.com.

Hey Drew and other guy,
I am a huge comic book nerd and I just listened to your first podcast and it wasn’t the ‘worst episode ever’. You basically convinced me to buy Mass Effect…after I beat Dragon Age a few more times. In the podcast you said you hoped that someone would challenge you to a comic book challenge, well I have a good one:
I challenge one of you to catch up with the last year of DC comics and the other to read Marvel comics, in particular the main events for both respectively (‘Blackest Night’ for DC, and ‘Siege’ for Marvel). There are at least 7 comics for each main series, though there are 50+ tie-ins for both publishers…you should read them all. They can be found all in collected volumes or online for free if you download them p2p.
The true ‘challenge’ of this challenge will be whether or not you can convince comic book fans listening that you know what you are talking about. Also, I would love to hear you fight over which comics were the best. Enjoy your reading, nerds. Excelsior!
Hi Mike and Drew
Ive been listening to your podcast since the Goblin King was born and have enjoyed all of the podcasts to date.
I downloaded the Zombie Run following your review last week and came across a Zombie podcast story called We’re Alive – A Zombie Story of Survival by Modern Myth Productions. It is currently running at 29 Chapters broken down into 3/4 20 minute mini chapters. Total run time so far is 30 hours. I challenge you to listen up to Chapter 12 The War at which time I hope you will enjoy this as much as me. Although Ive been listening to this less than a week I am totally hooked and wanted to share it with you and your listener. I am a huge zombie fan and love the idea of an apocalypse with an unknown cause (as of yet). If you like the Walking Dead you will enjoy this. The survivers and how they cope cover the main story although there are excellent and exciting encounters with the zombies. One of the best bits is it is FREE to download from iTunes.
The only downside I have noticed so far is that it is a vehicle for adverts of a few seconds at the beginning and about a minute at the end. This is of course how it is free and these are skipable.
Nerd Out!
That’s listeners as I am sure you have more than one!!!
Hello mike And Drew
im a huge horror game nerd i grew up playing games like resident evil and silent hill ect 2 years ago i found this mod for half life on the pc i thought the i dea was pretty neat so i downloaded it the game was called Cry of Fear. as i said before i grew up on horror storys but none of them freaked me out until i played this game.
I have a chalenge idea for you and thats to play through the first five chapters of cry of fear the game is a sweedish based horror game and requires half life on the pc to run the game just as a warrning the game may make not much sense but it does pick up the story its sort of like the silent hill franchise but ill let you pick up on that yourselfs if you choose to do this chalenge i cant wait to see what you guys think so with that said Nerd Out!!
Thanks for the Challenge, Anthony!
As I’m sure you have noticed, I am a huge fan of horror games! However, I’m sure you have also noticed that Drew… Well, not so much. We’ll see if this can make it to becoming an actual challenge, but I may just check it out on my own.
Thanks for your support!
Nerd out!
Mike
P.S. For future challenge requests, send them to themoreyounerd@gmail.com. Its guaranteed that we will see the request much sooner than we would here.
Hello, Mike and Drew!
I’ve been listening to your show since you did the Code Geass challenge (The ending of R2: MIND BLOWING)
So, in the vein of mind blowing anime, I challenge you to watch all 12 episodes of an anime called Puella Magi Madoka Magica. PMMM is a magical girl show like Sailor Moon or Cardcaptor, but what makes it different is how dark and frightening it is. The series hammers you with jaw-dropping plot twists frequently, and the ending, while a bit odd, is also very satisfying.
So, Mike and Drew: I want you to form a contract with Puella Magi Madoka Magica and become magical nerds!
